Memories of the encounter: Where is the funding for women’s rights in Chile? “Where is the funding for women’s rights in Chile?” is the name of the encounter that took place in Santiago at the end of 2009. This encounter took place between the women’s funds: Mujeres del Sur of Argentina, Elas of Brazil and Alquimia in Chile, supported by the Association for Women’s Rights and Development AWID.
Fondo Alquimia put together a document with the principal reflections that were generated in this meeting, which was attended by about 40 organizations of women and feminists and a donor group. The results of this important event have been consolidated in a report.
In this document, you can find reflections about the importance of money for the work of activists, individually as well as collectively, reflections about the factors that inspire the collection and mobilization of resources, perceptions about the strengths and weaknesses of the movement of women and feminists in Chiles in relation to fundraising, the impact that proper financing has on the moment and the relation that has been established in organizations with donors. To learn more about the depth of these discussions, read the report from the encounter by downloading it from our LIBRARY.
