Fondo Alquimia Calls for Applications for the Organization Support Fund 2010

Fondo Alquimia is accepting applications for the second round of Organization Support Grants (FAO), to finance operational costs and functions of the grassroots women’s organizations and collectives that work for the human rights of women.

The amount of this grant is $1,500,000 pesos (about US$2,800) per organization. For the year 2010, we plan to distribute 20 grants, for a total of $30,000,000 pesos (about US$56,800). These grants are to be directed to finance the operational costs of the receiving organizations, for example: rent for office space, honorarium, paying of bills, communications, technology, informational materials for distribution, training, and/or internal education.

In this second application for this year, the FAO will implement a new mechanism for application, using two types of forms:

1.A Pre-Application Form, for grassroots women’s organizations that have never been supported by Fondo Alquimia. These forms will be accepted until May 17th. 2.An application for active and inactive members, of Fondo Alquimia. The deadline for these applications is May 31.
