Today, Fondo Alquimia’s campaign faces new challenges. This second phase has been titled “restoration”. The second phase is is projected for the months of May and June, and has the objective of providing activists and their organizations with resources that will allow them to restore their missions; to recommence their activities and projects for the human rights of the women in their communities.
The work of Alquimia to give continuity to this campaign are focused on the search for resources that make it possible for these organizations to develop their work calmly, by being able to cover their basic expenses and having a reliable funding source for their planned work, while also making it possible to sustain their mission. Another aspect of this campaign is to fulfill the role of observers in the affected areas. The organizations provide us with very valuable information to keep track of how their rights are being attended to by local authorities and ministries.
Up until April 30th, the first phase of the campaign has raised about 580 mil pesos ( about US$1,100), through individual donatoins to the Diasporic Solidarity Fund in Spain and Holland. In addition, the Chilean Student Association of the University of Wisconsin in the US organized an event that raised almost US$300.
